Senator Aisling Dolan welcome over €50,000 in funding for BACD in Ballinasloe

The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar TD, today announced €8.24m in grants for 95 Enterprise Centres around the country under Enterprise Ireland’s Enterprise Centres Fund.

 

Senator Aisling Dolan stated ‘Congratulations to the team at BACD on this well-deserved funding of over €50,000. BACD or Ballinasloe Area Community Development is a vital resource in our community. The team including Manager Lyn Donnelly and Chairperson Seamus Duffy along with the Partners & Board of Directors are crucial to supporting businesses in our town and helping start-ups.

 

BACD are community-driven supporting the publication and delivery of the free Ballinasloe Life magazine delivered to homes all around town. Even most recently they have been instrumental in winning €80,000 in Leader funding and €40,000 under the Accelerated Towns & Villages measures. Funding for the impressive new Christmas Tree and Lights which will be a fantastic attraction to town as well as supporting the Shop Ballinasloe initiative with the Town Team.’

 

One of their core functions is to provide office & hotdesking space for start-ups, businesses community groups at Ballinasloe Enterprise Centre. It allows people to work remotely, access training and advice, and network with other business leaders.

 

This Enterprise Centre Fund – Powering the Regions will be crucial as the Centres continue to offer services to local businesses during what is an exceptionally difficult time with Covid. It will help the Centres implement a recovery plan for businesses within their remit over the next six to twelve months.
