Senator Aisling Dolan welcomes the new lifts at Ballinasloe which are crucial for people with mobility issues and to improve accessibility.
‘ It is great to see this investment by Iarnrod Éireann in lifts for Ballinasloe train station, it means people will be able to have easier access especially for people with disabilities, older people who can’t manage steps, young parents with prams. It is long overdue.
The works will see the installation of new heavy duty stainless steel electric traction lifts over a 7 week period and is scheduled towards the end of 2021 in Q4.
Our train station on the Dublin-Galway line is a fantastic resource for all in our community especially for students, commuters and businesses in towns and villages around Ballinasloe. I look forward to more travel in safer times’
