New Safety measures for Caher Cross on the old Dublin approved

Roads funding, €597 million announced today to maintain our regional and local road network.
Thanks to our Local Authorities who do so much to make roads safe especially when dealing with one of the largest road networks here in County Galway.
The funds include rehabilitation works - €150k for the River Suck bridge in town which will be a great boost. Also €100k for flood pumps - our flood relief projects are vital but also immediate defences if required.
Safety measures are a large part of funding and Caher Cross on the old Dublin-Galway road to Aughrim has been raised many times in terms of dangers crossing and speed of cars approaching the crossroads with many public reps.
Thank you to residents for bringing this forward and to our engineers in Ballinasloe MD who now have investment of €30k to make this section safer for all road users.
