New Funding For Third Level Students

Great news for students and families with €4.3 million to assist third level students with the cost of living.

This once off funding will be provided through the Student Assistance Fund, which assists students with books and class materials, rent, childcare, transport among other things. The HEA will distribute funding of over €4.3 million to the HEIs in early 2023.

This once off Student Assistance Fund is an invaluable resource for third level students who are finding it difficult to make ends meet.

Minister has confirmed that students across the west will receive the once off Tier 3-1916 Path 2 bursary which helps socio-economically disadvantaged will see an increase of €500 for the 22/23 academic year.

These students are members of the #Traveller and #Roma communities, students with a #disability, #mature students and further education award holders. The number of students who will be impacted by this change will be approximately 820, a €410,000 increase in cost.
