Shocking HSE cyber-attack - Dolan
May 28, 2021
We are receiving daily updates on the HSE cyber-attack and that HSE data may be released by the hackers. The National Cyber Security Centre is working with Gardaí to limit this exposure.
Right now we need to help our hospitals and teams get through this shocking attack on their system which impacts the most vulnerable. This major disruption will continue for a number of weeks, there is hope that some IT systems will be available from this evening.
How we can help if we need medical attention...
Consider options - GP Out of Hours, local pharmacy
If you have to go to hospital - bring documents with you, letters from the hospital with your Medical Record Number (MRN) or Patient Chart Number (PCN). It's usually on the sticker
Bring your current list of medications or prescriptions
any discharge summaries from any time you spent in a hospital
This is an incredibly difficult time for our healthcare staff who have been through so much especially in Portiuncula & Roscommon University Hospitals.
For right now because staff can't use IT systems there are delays. Urgent cases are being prioritised.
Maternity & Chemotherapy services are going ahead.
Outpatients & Radiology are cancelled.
Delays in ED in Portiuncula & injury unit in Roscommon
