Great news for Roscommon under Towns & Villages with €1 million in funding.

Fantastic news today, I have just received confirmation from the colleague Heather Humphreys Minister for Justice, Minister for Rural and Community Development & Minister for Social Protection that €162,000 in funding has been secured to develop a public green space in #Athleague.

Minister Humphreys visited #Athleague last July & officially opened the brand-new community centre in the heart of the village. The fabulous looking community center is now a hive of activity, a work hub, sports hub & community a space and is an absolute credit to the local committee.

During the visit the Minister viewed the green space where the community have planned to create a public garden, it is located next to the church and behind the community center. The committee showed her the pathways recently installed and mentioned they were seeking funding to complete their vision for the area, well Christmas has come early to Athleague this year!

Never to stand still, last weekend hundreds came out to partake in the Athleague Christmas Tractor Run and the indoor Christmas Market, another mighty event organised by volunteers in the heart of the village.

#Ballinlough wins €100,000 for Streetscape Enhancement

#Ballinagare wins €50,000 for a masterplan for community centre environs, with the aim of developing a recreational amenity on the community centre site. Potential for outdoor amenities, play space, basketball/tennis courts, community garden, and outdoor dining space.
