Great news for Flooding Prevention in East Galway!
Funding announced today by Minister Patrick O’Donovan is very welcome for the areas of Aughrim & Kilconnell.
Aughrim will see cleaning of the existing drains & upgrade of the piped network while Lissard in Kilconnell will also benefit from cleaning and upgrading works of drains.
Well done to our engineers and technicians in Galway County Council and Ballinasloe Municipal District along with Councillors in submitting strong applications to OPW to prevent flooding and damage in our towns and villages.
This is part of government investment under the Office of Public Works Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme - It funds local authorities to undertake minor flood mitigation works or studies to address localised flooding.
