Further funds announced for An Chistín project at the Castlerea Enterprise Hub.
Minister Heather Humphreys has allocated an additional €680k to Roscommon County Council to deliver Phase 2 of this project and food incubation units. It will be a huge boost to the project and follow on from government funding €1.54 million at the initial stages of this project. It is part of strategy to invest in excellence through 'Our Rural Future'.
The Rural Regeneration Fund is targeted at supporting enterprise and jobs in regional areas. The An Chistín food hub is already leading the way in food training and this is the next step to support local food producers reach their potential.
Well done to the team at Castlerea Enterprise Centre, and to Chair Benny O'Connell - such true vision and commitment to this project. Also
congratulations on their high-speed broadband enterprise centre where people can hotdesk with superfast speeds from 7am - 11pm in the evening. Real resource for people working remotely.
It really is a fantastic initiative and this investment will benefit the local community. Thank you to Roscommon County Council & Councillors driving this project forward for the area. Looking forward to more tasty treats from community training kitchen as well as new start-ups!
And who know perhaps the new Night & Day Festival at Clonalis House in Castlerea this September might have a An Chistín Food Experience to promote local producers???
