Senator Aisling Dolan noted
‘€133,301 has been allocated to County Roscommon to support the re-opening of community groups, youth centres, parish halls, men’s and women’s sheds. Applications will open shortly for the 2021 Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) funding through the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) at Roscommon County Council.’
This is part of an overall fund of €4.5million announced by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, and Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Joe O’Brien TD,

‘It has been a tough year for clubs and organisations who have had no income streams or normal ways to fundraise to manage the day to day operational costs. These grants from a few hundred to a few thousand euro could be a support to allow groups plan outdoor activities, purchase new equipment or manage renovations & repairs. The next few weeks and months we are moving towards a safe recovery and supporting local groups who are the heart of our rural communities. Let’s get our clubs and centres back up and going’
