It is fantastic to see the progress on this site and that in a few months we will have a new 5 screen cinema for everyone in Ballinasloe and towns around to enjoy. Many people in town can remember a time, more than a few decades ago, when we had both Swanwicks cinema on Society St (Utah is based now) and the Town Hall in Ballinasloe and great memories of walking into town to see the pictures.
This shows we are a place for investment and that there is a demand for entertainment, retail and hospitality in our area. We also have a talentpool in our region working from home and looking at opportunities of working more locally.
Ballinasloe offers families an excellent quality of life from our schools to our sports clubs producing world class players to a wide range of activities and now a cinema. So many people will visit our town along the new Galway to Dublin Cycleway in the next few years and now look forward to watching the next blockbuster after a long cycle!
To give a big Ballinasloe welcome and thank you to the Anderson family from Omniplex cinemas who are bringing such joy & excitement to families all around Ballinasloe. This will be a wonderful addition to our town bringing fun and entertainment along with jobs in the sector. Over €11 million is being invested by Omniplex cinemas across 3 locations in Ballinasloe, Nenagh & Mullingar with potential for 100 jobs during construction and 65 full and part-time jobs when operational. The opening is scheduled in Autumn 2022
I’d like to acknowledge the vision by Denis & Cian O’Connell from Limehill Esker who have invested in the area and also in the midst of construction of 40 homes in the area beside Tesco.
With a brand new 5 screen cinema – there will be something for everyone!
Here’s to making new memories in Ballinasloe
