Built Heritage Scheme - Investment in Galway and Roscommon

€126,000 for 24 projects across County Galway & €96,000 for 13 projects in County Roscommon under Built Heritage Scheme!!
This is part of €4 million for over 500 heritage projects announced by Minister Malcolm Noonan across the country.
This fund is to maintain our heritage and incredible buildings all across the country.
I’m delighted to see funds this year for the Presbyterian Church in Society Street in #Ballinasloe – it’s such an iconic building and these funds support the ongoing work by individuals to bring this back to it’s former glory.
I’m also delighted to see funds of €10,000 this year for Clonalis House in #Castlerea and especially when it will be centre of attention hosting the Night and Day Music Festival this September. It just shows how music, culture and heritage can come together to showcase what we have to offer in the West with this stunning backdrop of Clonalis House in the town of Castlerea.
I want to thank our Local Heritage Officers and Architectural Conservation Officers in Galway & Roscommon County Council working on these conservation projects in towns across the county.
A protected structure could be of special interest from an architectural, historical, archaeological, artistic, cultural, scientific, social or technical point of view. Check out maps on Roscommon County Council & Galway County Council websites for protected structures in your own area and community groups could consider planning events for #HeritageWeek in August 2022.
So many people are looking forward to getting out and about this summer especially as we are getting back to normal after lockdown.
