Congratulations to our Town Team Heroes who are the volunteers working hard for their local areas and more volunteers always welcome!
This funding of €10,000 each is to give a boost to Town Teams in Ballaghaderreen, Boyle & Monksland. Together with the Town Regeneration Officers in Roscommon County Council, Town Teams will develop plans for new projects in each town.
Town Teams are made up of residents, community groups and businesses with a pride in their area and a vision of how our towns can become a real social hub, supporting Shop Local initiatives and people who have new ideas. Maybe now is the perfect time for entrepreneurs to link in with your town team and set up that dream café, shop or business in town. This is all about regeneration, encouraging more people to shop locally and bringing towns back to life.”

“I’m delighted today to announce the first ever dedicated investment in our Town Teams.
“This is all about tackling vacancy, combatting dereliction and breathe new life into our town centres.
“Through this initiative, we are recognising the importance of having vibrant towns, which are places to live in, work in, visit, and raise a family in.
“Town teams are key to rural regeneration and I am delighted that this funding will support the development of these teams and the creation of teams where they currently don’t exist.
“Amongst other things, these Town Teams play a vital role in helping communities access the wide range of funding available from my Department under various schemes”
