1.3 million Community Recognition Fund for County Galway.

Fantastic news with €1.3 million Community Recognition Fund for County Galway.

Galway County Council receives an allocation of €1,333,290 for community, sports and arts groups as well as schools and parish groups working with people from the Ukraine and abroad.

This fund is such a boost for communities in County Galway who have welcomed people from Ukraine and other countries fleeing war and desperate circumstances. Thank you to all of our volunteers and people across the services who are working with new families and helping them in Galway.

Types of projects include upgrade of walkways, parks and gardens and sports clubs so community groups and sports clubs could apply to the Council. Funding could also be used for music festivals and arts groups.

Parish facilities and schools that open to wider community at weekends can apply to the Community Recognition Fund. And bus shelters and community vehicles are also eligible.
