Have Your Say - Local Area Plan 2022-2028! - Please Support

Plan to have 2,000 more people living in Ballinasloe - great to see our town getting bigger and welcoming new families or young people deciding to move back and start families here. Ballinasloe is a key town in the RSES - Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy 2020-2032 for the North-West. We have a lot to offer!

LAP Ballinasloe is about zoning land use in our town - housing, services, transport. Industrial Areas shaded in dark purple are the Poolboy Industrial Estate, Business & Technology areas = IDA Business & Technology Park in Creagh are crucial for jobs & employment. What do we need for the future?

Transport Plan - we have people from town working here but we also have people who commute to our town for work. A dual track is proposed for our railway connection Ballinasloe-Athenry-Galway to increase frequency. Also to ensure accessibility on transport routes. Transport for Ireland connections connecting townlands to Portiuncula, coaches & train station. According to 2016 census data 1 in 5 households in town don't have a car so rely on public transport or taxis. How do we encourage safe places to walk, cycling, bus services, access from the train station to town?
